Statement of Faith

What we believe.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, that it is without error in the original manuscripts, that it was written by men divinely and uniquely inspired, that it is absolutely trustworthy and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Father

We believe in God the Father, that He is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power.

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. We believe in Jesus’ bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His high-priestly intercession for believers, and that, in the Father’s choice of time, Jesus will gather the saints and will personally, visibly return to the earth.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from God to convict the world of sin, and to reveal the true goodness and judgment of God, and to regenerate, sanctify, and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ.

Man

We believe that all men by nature and by choice are sinners, but that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. We believe, therefore, that those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior become children of God, and those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God.

Universal Church

We believe in the church: a living, spiritual body of which Christ is the Head, and of which all regenerated people are members. We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried with Him in baptism and associated for worship, study, work, and fellowship. We believe that to these visible churches the Lord committed for observance “till He come,” the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and the task of proclaiming to a lost world the message of Jesus Christ.

Baptism

We believe that baptism is the immersion in, the pouring on, or the sprinkling with water of a believer in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  The preferred mode of baptism of this Church is immersion in water.

The Lord's Supper

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death, to be observed regularly by believers.

Faith

We believe that every human being is responsible to God in all matters of faith.

Local Church

We believe that each church is a part of, and has responsibility to the greater body of Christ.
