Personal Spiritual Retreats
In our fast paced culture, most of us are not only too busy, but our hearts are hurried and worried. Taking time out of our daily schedule to be quiet and still before God is so critical if we are to stay emotionally and spiritually healthy. This time is not something that can be rushed. We need to be purposeful and commit to making it a daily priority.

Once a year, we would encourage you to set aside an entire day or an entire weekend to be alone with God. We need to get away from our normal routine to take time to reevaluate where we have been, where we are, and where we are going. These times help to recalibrate our hearts and our minds and to keep our priorities in proper order.

If you are going for a day, pack a lunch and go to a local park and sit beside the water or sit in the woods. Pray, read your Bible, listen to God and write down what you learn.
If you choose to get away for a weekend, there are retreat centers around the area that are set up to help you focus on God during your personal retreat. They will provide you with a private room and three meals a day for a nominal cost. If you would like to investigate this further, please email Bob Stoddard at rstoddard@ridgelandchurch.org and he would be happy to assist you.
