CROSS-CULTURAL MINISTRY
Recognizing and embracing the increasing cultural diversity of our neighborhoods, Ridgeland Community Church extends welcome, assistance, and encouragement to visiting scholars, students, and guests at the nearby Universities and Colleges and to immigrants in the community at large. Everyone is enriched by sharing conversation, customs, foods and friendship through the following programs. All programs are held at Ridgeland Community Church, 260 Beckwith Road, (between Bailey & Lehigh Station Roads; near RIT). We welcome YOU to join the fun!
ENGLISH CONVERSATION GROUPS (ESL)
English Conversation Groups for beginning, intermediate and advanced speakers of English as a second language are held each week on Thursday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 P.M.
LADIES EXCHANGE & KIDS KORNER
International and American women share conversation and culture while preparing foods, making craft projects or presenting programs of general interest. Babies and preschool children enjoy loving care and fun activities in our nursery and toddler rooms.
INTERNATIONAL BIBLE STUDY
Bible studies, especially designed for speakers of other languages, are offered weekly throughout the year. Experienced teachers of the Bible and of English as a Second Language guide our IBS courses. You will enlarge your vocabulary and increase your understanding of many American idioms, phrases and concepts while gaining a basic understanding of the world's all-time best seller - the Bible.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Throughout the year, special activities, large group parties & celebrations are planned to introduce holidays (Thanksgiving; Christmas; Easter), provide seasonal recreation (Harvest Party; Winter Fun Day) and to build bridges of friendship (home visits / parties).
